What this Blog is about?

Thank you for visiting my blog site. This is my first posting and I'd like to take this opportunity to explain why I have this blog and what I will be doing over the next year. I have set a goal to complete 10 races and raise $10,000 (with Brandon) for the wonderful organization Peak 4 Poverty over the next year. I would like to constantly be pushing myself to complete progressively more difficult races and I would love to finish with a marathon (which has been a life long goal). I will be tracking my miles every day so you will be able to see my progress as I prepare myself for each race.

I decided to take on this task for the next year for many reasons. This past year I have been through an enormous amount of changes in my life. Some good some bad, but nevertheless, God was with me every step of the way. I have realized how blessed I am and how much God has helped me, especially through my difficult times. So because I have been so blessed I would like to dedicate my time to helping others. 

The money that is raised will go directly to helping orphans in Africa affected by AIDS. It will help buy them essential needs and pay for their education. My friend Nabeel, founder of Peak 4 Poverty, just returned from a trip from Tanzania where he visited orphans which he and all of you will be helping. Seeing the photos of these beautiful children made me want to do whatever I could to help. So I ask, if you can find it in your heart to donate whatever you feel you are able to you will be make a real difference!
